Who we are & What we do

“Uranium5ive” consists of 5 students from Universiti Tenaga Nasional and is established for a class project of the Introduction To Nuclear Technology subject. The purpose of this project is to create awareness among people especially Malaysian and to share any information about Nuclear Energy. Come join us with open arms and support our team, give your opinion and speak out your mind whether you agree or not about Nuclear Energy. Nuclear Power: Future Plan Worldwide


Increasing energy demand, plus concerns on the environmental issues and too much dependency on fossil fuel sources are coinciding to make the case for increasing use of nuclear.

To date, there are 443 NPP reactors operating in 30 countries. Combination of the generation capacity provided 2630 billion kWh, about 14 % of the world’s electricity.

NPP capacity worldwide is increasing steadily, with over 60 new reactors under constructions in 14 countries. Guys, one-thing-you-should-know is more reactors are on planned in Asian region, including our neighboring countries; Indonesia and Thailand.

In general, future plan for NPP reactors worldwide are to increase nuclear capacity by up rating existing plants and extension of the plant life.


From the projection above, most likely the generation capacity on nuclear energy keep increasing by year. The projected increase in total electricity (TWh) and energy harnessed from nuclear by different regions up to year 2030 shown in figure below.
